My son, Michael, was an employee of Staples in Bluffton, SC and he loved working there. He would come home after work and talk about the great people who worked there–in particular, the Manager Robert, Melissa, Kiara, Jackie, Rebecca, Crystal, Monika, Zanda, Dandre and many others. We received a grant from Staples that was unexpected and well–received to help with funeral costs. As a family, we were overwhelmed with such a gift. It is definitely a reflection of the type of company he worked for at Staples. As your company that gives so much, you may be happy to know that Michael was also an organ donor and saved 5 people’s lives. Again, I would like to thank Staples for helping us.
It’s tough finding out you’re sick and that it will be a life changer. One is not prepared for these things. I’ve gone through partial removal, chemo, and am now about to start radiation. I’ve been in and out of work as I am not feeling well but still need to continue working. It’s been tough as I have payments such as my mortgage, utilities to pay, and my kids to take care of. When I applied, I didn’t think much about it, so when I received a grant I was overwhelmed with emotion. I want to thank you all!
I decided to reach out to the Fund shortly after Hurricane Florence, because our home was a part of the flooding. I knew from neighbors that the toll of a flood in the area was not going to be short term, and they were right. My family was misplaced for 2 weeks between both storm and flooding. The water is currently going down. We’ve been able to assess the damages, the clean–up that will ensue, and the horrid smell of lingering flood waters, but luckily, we still have a home to go to. Being misplaced didn’t stop us from working and it allowed me to just be someone positive for other people to share their stories with. My family wants to say thank you to our staples family for being there for us!
One of our employees was a victim of domestic violence. They became homeless with two children and needed assistance to find a safe home for her and her family.“ I appreciate all you have done for me in helping to assist me to build a new life where I feel safe. This is more than a job for me. You’re all my family. Thank you.”
I just wanted to say thank you again for this grant. My family and I are extremely grateful, what happened to our family was a tragedy but we are blessed to have each other in perfect health and that’s all that matters. I would love to share my story and share not only that I received help from my friends and family but from the job I’m blessed to be part of at Staples.
